Police: Man Exposes Himself in Elementary School in Pepperell, Massachusetts

A man is accused of exposing himself inside a Massachusetts elementary school Friday morning.

Police confirm 54-year-old Charles Jestings of Pepperell has been arrested and charged with open and gross lewdness.

Jestings allegedly exposed himself to an employee at Varnum Brook Elementary School in Pepperell. Police responded around 10:20 a.m. and found the suspect outside.

According to police, witnesses say Jestings was speaking with a secretary at a counter "when another employee noticed he was exposing himself."

According to school officials, the suspect ewalked through the main enterance and asked about missing property at the front desk before exposing himself.

"Students did not witness the incident and class was not disrupted," North Middlesex Superintendent Joan Landers wrote in a statement.

"It's horrifying," said Pepperell resident Patty Bagby. "It's a small town and you feel pretty safe here most of the time, so it's pretty disturbing."

Police did not say when Jestings was due to appear in court. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
