Police: Man Released on Bail Carjacks SUV the Next Day

A Massachusetts man released on bail Monday was arrested the next day for an alleged carjacking in Boston's historic Bay Village neighborhood.

Twenty-two-year-old Edwin Cervantes of Framingham was freed on $7,500 bail after he was arraigned on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Framingham District Court.

On Tuesday night, Cervantes allegedly walked up to a female driver parking her SUV on Church Street in Boston, yanked her out of her car and took off.

Cervantes was pulled over a short time later after he had to stop to fill up the stolen car with gas at the Shell station on Columbus Avenue.

Cervantes is being held without bail.
