Police Searching for Alleged Gunman in Revere Shooting

Police are continuing to search for an individual who is believed to have shot a man in Revere, Massachusetts on Thursday night.

As a person remains in critical condition following a shooting stemming from an argument, police in Massachusetts continue to search for an individual believed to have opened fire.

State police said the shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Shirly Avenue, where a group of seven or eight people were reportedly involved in an argument that escalated into a shooting. The victim was shot in the stomach and taken to an area hospital, where police said he remains in critical condition.

A SWAT team assisted with the investigation and surrounded a home on Dehon Street, where the suspected gunman lives. Authorities did not name the suspected shooter, but said they will obtain an arrest warrant after they were unable to find him on Thursday night.

One other person is in custody and being investigated as an accomplice, state police said.

Police said they are still trying to determine if the victim and gunman were known to each other.
