Police, Shoe Store Give Teen Robbery Victim Birthday Surprise

Thirteen-year-old Amir Taste was robbed of $100 on his way to school a few weeks ago

Boston Police and a local shoe store went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure a young boy had a special birthday.

Thirteen-year-old Amir Taste was robbed of $100 on his way to school a few weeks ago.

He got the money for his birthday and was going to buy a new pair of sneakers.

Officers then made a phone call to the Concepts shoe store in Cambridge, which gave Amir a free pair of new sneakers and a shirt.

When Taste asked what he could do in return, the officers asked that he write a thank you note.

A few days later, Concepts got the letter, which read in part, “I'm glad there are people in this world - besides my teachers and parents - who actually look out for me."
