Police Warn Against Recent Spike in Home Invasions

Six homes have been broken into in the Cambrideport neighborhood

Police in Cambridge, Massachusetts, are warning residents of a recent spike in housebreaks in the Cambridgeport neighborhood.

Over the past three weeks, six housebreaks have been reported. Each break-in occurred on either a Tuesday or Wednesday, between afternoon and early evening hours. Entry into the homes was made via an unlocked window, cut window screen or an unlocked basement door in each occurrence.

The incidents took place on the following streets: Sidney Street, Brookline Street, Chestnut Street, Kelly Road, Magazine Road and Williams Street.

Police believe they have identified a suspect. An investigation is currently underway. 

Police urge residents to report any suspicious activity immediately. They encourage homeowners and motorists to take all the necessary safety precautions to thwart potential invaders.
