Double Shooting Under Investigation in Quincy, Mass.; 2 Hospitalized

Two men were hospitalized after they were injured in a double shooting overnight in a quiet Quincy, Massachusetts neighborhood.

The incident was reported at 1:48 a.m. on Rodman Street, according to police. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 24-year-old Dorchester man who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a 40-year-old Dorchester man who was shot multiple times.

Both victims were taken to Boston Medical Center, where the 40-year-old man underwent surgery. The extent of the victims' injuries was not immediately clear.

The homeowner of a nearby house told NBC10 Boston he and his daughter awoke to what sounded like two men arguing, followed by gunshots.

"There was just a lot of gunshots that woke us up and we just heard a lot of screaming and banging and stuff," said Yana Huang, whose parents own the two-family home.

"Our tenant is a single mom with a few kids," she said. "But the screaming I’m pretty sure is older men. I’m not sure what’s going on."

Quincy Police Capt. John Dougan said the shooting was not a random attack. At least eight people were present at the time of the violence, but none of the individuals are cooperating with authorities.

Details on what led up to the shooting were not immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
