Man Accused of Murder After Fatally Running Over Ex-Wife in September 2016

Police say a man who fatally ran over his ex-wife in the driveway of their Quincy, Massachusetts, home last year has been indicted for murder.

Yan Long Chow, 55, was arraigned Thursday at Norfolk Superior Court for the murder of his ex-wife, Zhen Li, who was 52. Chow pleaded not guilty.

According to Quincy Police, in September, Chow was backing out of the driveway on Phillips St. when he struck Li. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chow did not originally face charges in her death, but after a six-month investigation, a grand jury indicted Chow Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Chow initially claimed Li's death was an accident, and he was even transported to the hospital for "stress-related issues."

The defense argued Chow knew the grand jury was convened and didn't leave the state, arguing the incident was just an accident. They added he turned himself in to police.

Chow was ordered held without bail. He's due back in court on May 8.
