Residents in a Massachusetts town reportedly spoke out against a proposed Hooters franchise on Route 1.
Wicked Local reports that more than 50 Dedham residents spoke out against the Board of Selectmen granting a liquor license transferal previously held by the owners of the former Summer Shack on Providence Highway to the owners proposing a Hooters franchise.
Many of the residents were concerned about the atmosphere of Hooters and traffic problems caused by the restaurant's location, according to the report.
A petition with more than 500 signatures expressing disapproval of the establishment was also presented to board members during Monday nights's meeting.
