Former UFC Fighter Facing Multiple Domestic Abuse Charges

Joshua Grispi of Middleboro, Mass. had his bail revoked after being arrested 2 times in 4 days

A former UFC fighter is accused of beating his wife multiple times over the course of two years and making death threats against her, police reports show.

Residents of Middleboro, Massachusetts, say they are shocked to hear the allegations against 25-year-old Joshua Grispi, who trained at South Shore Sport Fighting in Norwell.

"As far as I know, he was the same sweet kid. Guess we'll see what happens," said Mahoney, adding that he never knew Grispi to be violent outside the gym.

According to police reports, Grispi was first arrested on Aug. 1. He was charged with domestic assault and battery and two counts of improper storage of firearms.

Police say Grispi had several guns scattered around his home. They reportedly were not properly secured, and some were loaded.

Despite his arrest and arraignment, he was able to get out on bail.

On Aug. 4, police returned to the home after Kaitlyn ran to a neighbor's house, saying Joshua had repeatedly hit her in the head, punched in the side of her vehicle and commanded their dog to attack her.

Her friend told NECN that Kaitlyn suffered a concussion, a broken wrist, and cuts to her leg from dog bites.

She said Kaitlyn was afraid to go to police before because Joshua threatened to kill her and her family.

Text messages shown to police in the report show multiple death threats made to Kaitlyn from Joshua.

The couple does have two children, ages 3 and 1. They are currently with their maternal grandparents.

Joshua Grispi is due back in court in October. He's also facing charges for growing marijuana and possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute.
