Former Police Lt. David Dyson is accused of receiving $1,000 after he misrepresented time he worked on detail projects

A retired Seekonk, Massachusetts Police Lt. was charged with larceny for allegedly making a fake claim for payment, according to the Bristol District Attorney's Office.

David Dyson of Rehoboth, Massachusetts is accused of receiving about $1,000 after he misrepresented the time he worked on detail projects. The suspect was allegedly overcompensated for detail hours on five separate occasions between March 2016 and October 2017.

Dyson was charged with larceny over $250 and five counts of public employee standards of conduct violation. 

He is expected to be arraigned May 1 in Taunton District Court. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
