New England

Rob Gronkowski Inactive for Patriots vs. Packers

Tight end Rob Gronkowski is one of seven inactive players for the Patriots on Sunday Night Football vs. the Green Bay Packers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier in the day that there was concern over the availability of both Gronkowski and running back Sony Michel. Turns out, neither will play for the Patriots tonight. Gronkowski has been dealing with an ankle and back injury, while Michel is still hurting from a knee injury he suffered vs. the Bears on Oct. 21.

It's the second time in three weeks New England will be without Gronkowski, as he also missed the team's game vs. Chicago. He returned to action vs. Buffalo last week on Monday Night Football, making three catches for 43 yards, but once again coming up shy of the end zone. Gronkowski has just one touchdown on the season, way back in Week 1 vs. Houston.

Guard Shaq Mason, tight end Jacob Hollister, offensive linemen Cole Croston and Brian Schwenke and linebacker Nic Grigsby will also miss Sunday's contest vs. the Packers, who are 3-3-1 and in third place in the NFC North.

Green Bay is winless on the road in 2018. It's the first time Aaron Rodgers has been active for the Packers at Gillette Stadium; the last time Green Bay played in Foxboro, in 2010, Rodgers was inactive.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman, who was also listed as questionable, will play for the Patriots. Right tackle Marcus Cannon is also back after missing the last two games with a concussion.

The Packers beat the Patriots the last time the teams play, 26-21, in the 2014 regular season at Lambeau Field.
