Man Medflighted from Crash on I-93 in Mass.

A 7-month-old passenger was uninjured when a vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer in Wilmington, Massachusetts.

Massachusetts State Police responded to a serious crash on Interstate 93 Monday evening.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a 25-year-old man from Brockton was traveling southbound when his vehicle rear-eneded a tractor-trailer, which had slowed down due to heavy traffic. The Brockton man was transported by medical helicopter to Brigham and Women's Hospital with serious injuries. 

A 7-month-old female passenger was uninjured in the crash. The operator of the tractor-trailer, a 30-year-old man from Atkinson, New Hampshire, was also uninjured in the crash.

The highway was temporarily closed in both directions near Exit 40 while a medical helicopter landed to transport a patient. All lanes have since been opened back up for travel.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
