Fire Rips Through Rockport, Mass. House Amid Nor'easter

No injuries were reported in connection to the fire

Firefighters battled a house fire in Rockport, Massachusetts early Thursday that may have been caused by damage from the powerful storm that rocked the region overnight.

The fire on Briarstone Road was reported around 3 a.m. One firefighter said the house was fully engulfed when they arrived at the scene.

Gusts from the storm fanned the flames, making it difficult for crews to douse the fire. Around 6 a.m., the flames picked back up and were seen on the roof of the structure.

No one was home at the time of the blaze. No injuries were reported in connection to the fire.

The Beverly and Gloucester fire departments responded to the scene to assist.

Although it was unclear what caused the fire, crews believe the weather played a factor.
