Southeastern New England Hit With Flooding

Parts of southeastern New England were hit hard Wednesday night by flooding.

Video obtained by necn shows flooding on Congdon Street in Narragansett, Rhode Island.

There, cars could be seen driving through the floodwaters. The water so high, it went up to the wheel-wells.

Another video, shot by Kevin Murphy, shows floodwaters right in front of Narragansett Town Beach. The road was impassable.

The east bay of Rhode Island also was hit hard in the early evening, with inches of rain falling per hour.

There was minor flooding on Route 114 on the Warren/Barrington line.

In Bristol, Chris Minior shot video in front of his home on Gooding Avenue.

The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency was urging drivers to use caution throughout the day, and reissued the warning to avoid driving through flooded roadways.

The sewers in Warren were bubbling, but the rain waters receding as fast as they flooded out.
