Police: Argument Over Christmas Gift Led to Murder

A body was found in a building on Clarktower Drive in Waltham, Massachusetts

A 51-year-old man is being held without bail after he allegedly killed his wife in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Julio Resto showed up at the Waltham Police Department on Wednesday morning wielding a large knife, telling police he had just killed his wife Gloria. He told police to shoot him because he had nothing to live for.

Police fired at Resto, who then dropped to the ground and was handcuffed.

Investigators then went to Resto's home at 204 Clocktower Drive in Waltham and found Gloria Resto without a pulse, with blood on her head and chest.

The suspect told police Julio Resto had an argument with his wife. After she went to bed, he woke her up, the two argued some more, and he then stabbed her with a large knife.

He said they argued because he did not give his wife a Christmas present, and she later told him he needed to move out.

Resto is charged with one count of murder and seven counts of assault. He is scheduled to return to court for a bail hearing on Jan. 6.
