A Massachusetts teenager, accused of spray-painting swastikas at Tufts University, is due back in court later this month.
The 17-year-old was arraigned Tuesday as a juvenile on charges of vandalism and property damage.
Authorities say cell phone information links the suspect to the vandalism, which was found on several different parts of the Medford campus in November and December.
"These symbols and words have no place in a civilized society. Middlesex County is enriched by the diversity of its population and our efforts are focused on ending such displays of prejudice and continuing to develop a climate of tolerance," said District Attorney Marian Ryan.
The next scheduled court hearing is April 22.
