Trash Spews Onto Dorchester Street, Blocks Traffic After Truck Spill

Loads of trash spewed onto a Dorchester street in Boston following a truck spill, causing traffic and detours for commuters.

State police said cleanup is under Thursday morning following the unfortunate incident. About 75 yards of the road fell victim to the spill.

Two westbound lanes on Morton Street from Norfolk to Verrill Street in Dorchester were blocked, according to officials.

NBC10 Boston's Sky Ranger helicopter was over the scene, where a line of trash could be seen blocking the street, while video from the ground showed crews moving the trash to the side in order to clear the road.

Drivers are being accommodated with detours, state police said. Delays are expected to continue.
