Unlicensed Motorist Arraigned for Driving 100 MPH

Prosecutors say Zeguang Xu, a Boston University student, was driving his Maserati approximately 100 MPH in a 30 MPH zone on Beacon Street just before 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.

A Boston man was arraigned on Thursday for allegedly driving 100 miles per hour.

Prosecutors say Zeguang Xu, a Boston University student, was driving his Maserati approximately 100 MPH in a 30 MPH zone on Beacon Street just before 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle came to a stop at a red light at the intersection of Beacon Street and Massachusetts Avenue, where heavy traffic prevented passage, prosecutors said.

After Xu provided a false name to police, investigation revealed that the operator and owner of the vehicle was Xu, who did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle.

Xu is charged with operating without a license, providing a false name to police, speeding, failure to stop, and negligent operation. He was released on $1,000 bail that he had posted after his arrest.
