Walsh to Discuss Climate Change at Vatican Conference

Walsh is scheduled to share Boston's experience in preparing for climate change and working against human trafficking at two workshops

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is taking part in a Vatican policy conference this week with other public officials and religious leaders.

Walsh is scheduled to share Boston's experience in preparing for climate change and working against human trafficking at two workshops. The conference is organized by the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

The participants are expected to push the United Nations to approve new sustainable development goals, and to consider modern slavery and human trafficking a crime against humanity.

Walsh is to attend a reception with U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Ken Hackett on Monday.

He returns to Boston on Thursday.
