Police say a water main break closed Cottage Street in East Boston Monday night.
The 10-inch water main break occurred at 168 Cottage St., causing the street to close down between Porter and Gove Streets. Water access was been shut down to the entire road.
Authorities are on scene excavating the hole to identify what repairs need to be made.
Crews have been working through Tuesday morning, but have no set time when it will be fixed.
