Boston's popular Trillium Brewing Company mysteriously closed its doors right before Thanksgiving, and nobody seemed to know why... until now.
According to the tech and pop culture website BostInno, the brewery tweeted on Nov. 25 that it had to "unexpectedly" close its retail shop early, and it hasn't opened since. The closure sparked an intense conversation among beer lovers online, but nobody seemed to know exactly what happened until this week.
The Boston Eater website reported Wednesday that Trillium's owners posted a message on the Beer Advocate forum explaining that they were forced to close because their license renewal application was never processed. They're hoping to reopen as soon as the license is approved by the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission.
