A woman is dead after she was hit by an asphalt truck in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The family of 82-year-old Patricia Lemay, who was the mother of 14 children, tells necn she was killed Thursday morning in an crash that police describe as a "tragic accident."
The accident reportedly occurred shortly before 9 a.m. in the area of 37 Ernest Ave.
Police said the woman was taking a walk on the side of the road when an asphalt truck working on a paving project struck the woman. She was knocked down and pinned underneath the vehicle.
The driver of the truck — who works for Harrison Paving - was so distraught that he was taken to a local hospital for stress.
The investigation is ongoing.
