Driver Strikes Guardrail, Dies on I-95 in Sharon, Mass.

The single-vehicle crash was reported near exit 8 on I-95

A 22-year-old woman died during an early morning car crash Friday after they struck a guardrail on Interstate 95 in Sharon, Massachusetts, according to state police.

The accident was reported at approximately 3:10 a.m. on the southbound side of I-95 near Exit 8. State police previously stated the crash happened in Foxborough.

The driver, Stephanie Boaventura of Milford, traveled into the median and struck the guardrail on the driver side while trying to re-enter the interstate.

Boaventura suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where she died.

As a result of the crash, two lanes were shut down for four hours. Crews removed the disabled vehicle before 6:45 a.m. and began inspecting the guardrail.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
