Woman Slashed in the Face in Worcester, Massachusetts

The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries

Worcester, Massachusetts, police responded to a report of a fight that resulted in a woman slashed in the face on Friday morning.

According to the Worcester Police Department, officers arrived on scene near the area of 927 Main Street and found a 37-year-old female suffering from a slash below her eye and lacerations to her hands.

The woman was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

After investigating the incident, police learned the stabbing occurred after the victim engaged in a physical altercation with another female outside the Bethel Market.

The suspect, later identified as Rebecca Hersh, age 33, of Courtland Street, Worcester, pulled out a knife and slashed the victim.

Hersh was arrested after police received a description of her and located her walking on Main Street near Ripley Street.

She was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
