The Worcester, Massachusetts, School Committee voted and named South High School Principal Maureen Binienda as the new superintendent of Worcester Public Schools.
Maureen Binienda was named superintendent after an internal search that resulted in four candidates.
"Maureen has spent over thirty years at South High School and in the Worcester Public School system. She has an intimate understanding of how our schools work from the ground up," said Mayor Petty. "I know that Maureen will carry on the work of her predecessor and realize the international baccalaureate school, continue increasing the test scores and graduation rates of all our students."
