Milder Weather Ahead After Rain, Snow

Periodic rain will continue today New England as a disturbance marches from west to east across the region.

As rain tapers to showers this evening, then moves out overnight tonight, a west wind will gust to 45 mph from late night through Tuesday, creating a brisk feeling for all, and mountain snow squalls that will drop a few fresh inches in the higher terrain.

Aside from morning mountain snow showers, Tuesday will be fair, windy and cool, until wind abates beneath ample sunshine Wednesday with highs in the 50s.

Our region's next round of rain moves into Northern and Western New England later Thursday as showers, then most of the region Friday with a few rumbles of thunder, but will be accompanied by temperatures well into the 60s!

A strong cold front Friday marks the start of incremental cooling this weekend, with a chance of an afternoon shower both days, ahead of a cool start to next week.
