Mom Busted for Shoplifting With Kids

Adelaida Jordan had just been arraigned on a separate shoplifting charge earlier in the day

A Massachusetts mother is facing shoplifting and child endangerment charges after she allegedly tried to steal several items from a Kohl's Department Store on Monday with her 18-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son in tow.

Adelaida Jordan, 33, of Boston's Roxbury neighborhood, is charged with willful concealment, endangering the welfare of a child, breach of bail and false reports to law enforcement.

Her daughter, Chabellie Cruz, 18, of Roxbury, was also charged with willful concealment.

Loss prevention employees at Kohl's in Salem, New Hampshire, told police they saw Jordan, Cruz and Jordan's 8-year-old son take several items from the sales floor, walk to the changing rooms, remove the merchandise from its packaging and leave the store around noon Monday. The total value of the merchandise was $1,000.

Salem Police said Jordan had just left Salem District Court, where she had been arraigned on a separate count of willful concealment.

Jordan was arraigned and held on $7,500 cash bail. Cruz was released on personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned on Feb. 1, 2016.

The 8-year-old boy was released to family members.
