A Massachusetts man faces serious charges in New Hampshire after he allegedly struck a police officer with his car.
Just after midnight on Friday, a Nashua police officer was pulled over on the Everett Turnpike to assist a disabled motorist when a vehicle traveling northbound drifted into the breakdown lane. The passenger side mirror struck the officer on his arm and across his back, causing the mirror to break off the vehicle.
After a short pursuit, the officer stopped the vehicle at the intersection of West Hollis Street and Main Dunstable Road. Zachary Rowland, 23, was ultimately charged with conduct after an accident, aggravated driving while intoxicated, disobeying a police officer, operating without a valid license, and motorist duties when approaching highway emergencies.
Rowland is being held on $7,500 bail and will be arraigned in 9th Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court on Monday.
