NH Unemployment Rate Unchanged for December

New Hampshire officials say the state's unemployment rate for December was 2.5 percent, unchanged from the November rate.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for December 2017 was 2.6 percent.

The state estimates that 745,180 people were employed last month, an increase of 1,350 from the previous month and an increase of 17,930 from December 2017. The number of unemployed residents decreased by 460 over the month to 18,720, which was 710 fewer unemployed than in December 2017.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for December was 3.9 percent, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the November rate. It was a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the December 2017 rate.
