A man is in police custody for his involvement in a shooting in Manchester, New Hampshire, early Friday morning.
Around 12:40 a.m., police responded to the shooting on Merrimack Street. Less than 24 hours later, police conducted a traffic stop and arrested the passenger, 21-year-old Christopher Martinez of Manchester, for his involvement in the shooting. Martinez was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle revealed a .380 caliber handgun that was stolen in Florida, heroin (53.4 grams), and 5 separate prescription pills to include OxyCodone. Martinez was charged with first degree assault, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, three counts of possession of a controlled drug, receiving stolen property, and violation of bail stemming from a previous stabbing incident.
Martinez will be arraigned Monday and face a bail hearing on Tuesday.
