Former Police Chief Killed in New Hampshire Brush Fire

A former Andover selectman and Nashua police chief has been killed in a fire that started in a brush pile, according to the Union Leader.

Neighbors and town officials identified the victim as Don Gross of Andover, New Hampshire.

The blaze at Kearsarge Mountain Rd. on Jan. 7 was initially reported as a propane explosion.

The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office says it won't be releasing the man's name until after an autopsy, which is scheduled for Friday.

The investigation is ongoing.
