Man Charged With OUI, Resisting Arrest After Leading Police on Multi-State Chase

Michael Derochers, 37, of Nashua, is charged with felony reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, two counts of resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated second offense, and speeding in Hudson, New Hampshire

A New Hampshire man has been charged for allegedly driving under the influence and resisting arrest after leading police on a multi-state pursuit.

Michael Derochers, 37, of Nashua, was pulled over for speeding on Ferry Street in Hudson just after midnight Saturday, police said. The responding officer determined Derochers was intoxicated and told him he was under arrest, at which point Derochers became combative and uncooperative, police said.

The officer used his taser on Derochers, but he continued to struggle with the officer. Derochers then got back into his pickup truck, speeding away as the officer remained partially inside of the truck, police said.

The officer was able to escape from the truck and was not injured in the incident, police said.

Derochers traveled southbound on Route 3, crossing into Massachusetts and leading state police on a chase. According to police, Derochers surrendered a short time later.

Derochers is charged with felony reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, two counts of resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated second offense, and speeding in Hudson, New Hampshire. Massachusetts State Police also charged him with OUI second offense, neglegent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop and fugitive from justice.

He is being held on preventative detention bail until his arraignment at the Lowell District Court on Monday.

It is unclear whether Derochers has an attorney.
