New Hampshire Newspaper Endorses Chris Christie For President

A notable New Hampshire publication has taken a stance in the 2016 political arena, naming New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as its pick for the Republican presidential nomination.

In an editorial published Saturday night by the New Hampshire Union Leader's publisher Joseph McQuaid, Gov. Christie is endorsed as "right for these dangerous times" in a reference to terrorism and natural disasters.

This is the first and largest New Hampshire newspaper endorsement for the 2016 campaign. Back in 2012, the publication endorsed Newt Gingrich and in 2007 it endorsed John McCain.

The endorsement also added "But the one reason he may be best-suited to lead during these times is because he tells it like it is and isn't shy about it."

The piece ended with a jab toward Democratic Presidential nomination candidate Hillary Clinton.

"Gov. Chris Christie is exactly the conservative Republican needed to take the fight to Hillary Clinton next fall and then get about the serious business of defending us and rebuilding our economy," he said.
