New Hampshire Democrat Eyes DNC Chairman Position

New Hampshire Democratic Party chairman Ray Buckley is having “active conversations” about running for chairman in the spring

A New Hampshire Democrat is considering a run for Democratic National Committee chairman next year.

The Boston Globe reports that New Hampshire Democratic Party chairman Ray Buckley is having “active conversations” about leaving his current position as vice chairman and running for chairman in the spring.

Buckley announced his run on Wednesday and has already been endorsed by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

He will be up against US Representative Keith Ellison of Minnesota and former Vermont governor Howard Dean for the position.

Buckley has been DNC vice chairman for eight years and has led NH Democrats since 2007.

No New Hampshire poltician from either party has served as a national party chair.
