Police Identify Swimmer Who Drowned in Lake

New Hampshire State Police have identified the swimmer who drowned earlier this week at Echo Lake State Park in Conway.

Police say 32-year-old Andrew Coady of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada drowned on Monday.

The Marine Patrol received the emergency call about the man who went underwater and didn't resurface on Monday afternoon, while swimming in the lake. Lifeguards found him and took him to shore, where they began CPR. The man was later pronounced dead at a hospital in North Conway.

Echo Lake is part of a 118-acre state park and is popular for swimming and picnicking.
