Portsmouth, NH Pursuit Leads to Drug Bust

A low-speed car chase leads to a drug bust early Saturday morning in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Early Saturday morning, N.H. State Police attempted to pull over a Jeep Patriot on Maplewood Avenue in Portsmouth for a moving violation. The driver, identified as 31 year old Travis Tulo from Durham, N.H. refused to stop his car and the chase began.

The pursuit ended when the driver eventually surrendered and turned into a residential driveway. Both the driver and the passenger, 21 year old Kyle Haggett from Exeter, N.H. were taken into custody without incidents.

During the investigation a N.H. State Trooper discovered half an ounce of Methamphetamine inside the car and both Tulo and Haggett were taken to Rockingham County Jail. Tulo was held on $10,000 cash bail and received multiple drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute and a fourth offense of DWI-Drugs. Haggett was held on $5,000 cash bail and charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug.

Tulo and Haggett will be arraigned on Monday, November 7.
