New York Man Arrested on Drug Charges

Man was arrested as he attempted to leave his hotel room

A New York man was arrested Friday after Portsmouth, New Hampshire, police found $16,000 worth of cocaine, marijuana and $2,500 in his hotel room.

Everton Sterling, 31, of Bronx, New York, was charged with the sale of a controlled drug (cocaine), possession of drugs with intent to distribute (cocaine), and two counts of possession of drugs (marijuana), according to the Portsmouth, New Hampshire Police Department.

He was arrested as he attempted to leave his hotel room after an investigation by the Portsmouth Police Department Detective Division, including the Special Investigations Unit and the High Intensity Drug Interdiction Team with the assistance of the Somersworth Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), police said.

Bail was set at $75,000. Sterling will be arraigned Monday at the 10th Circuit - District Division Portsmouth via video arraignment, police said.
