N.H. First Responders Discussing Enforcement, Safety

Following an accident in which a police cruiser was struck in Warner, New Hampshire, injuring a trooper, first responders are discussing increased enforcement and urging drivers to slow down this winter.

Police, fire, emergency services, transportation and towing workers are holding a news conference at 10 a.m. Friday. They're asking drivers to use caution if involved in an accident.

The news conference is at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Concord.

In the Warner accident, the trooper was sitting in his cruiser with the emergency lights flashing after he stopped to assist a driver who'd gone off the road Tuesday. Police said a tractor trailer driver was going too fast for road conditions and hit the cruiser, knocking it over 280 feet away. The driver fled.
