One Killed After Crash in Sandwich, New Hampshire

The crash occurred on Monday night

One person was killed after a crash occurred in Sandwich, New Hampshire, on Monday night.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop and speeding on Route 25 in Tamworth.

The vehicle turned onto Route 113 westbound and continued to drive recklessly at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the vehicle, a 2011 Volkswagon Jetta, lost control of the car, left the roadway, and struck a tree on the north side of the road.

The operator, identified as Jake Davison, age 19, of Tamworth, New Hampshire, suffered life threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries on scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle or other vehicles involved in the crash.

Members of the New Hampshire State Police, Sandwich Police Department, Moultonborough Police Department, Sandwich and Moultonborough Fire and Rescue, and Stewards Ambulance Service assisted on scene.

State Police are investigating the crash.
