PD: Student Had Unloaded Gun, Drugs in High School

The student confessed and no students or staff were at risk, according to police and school officials

A high school student in Manchester, New Hampshire is facing multiple charges as well as disciplinary action after he was found in possession of an unloaded gun, drugs and stolen property while at school on Thursday.

After receiving a tip from a concerned student, the school resource officer at Manchester High School West and the school principal interviewed the student accused of having the items, according to a joint release from the Manchester School District and Manchester Police. The student confessed and the items were subsequently located in the student's backpack. The gun was checked and secured by the school resource officer.

The school district said "at no time" were students or staff at risk.

The student is a juvenile and therefore no information regarding their identity is being released.
