Police: Baby Carriage Struck, 3-Month-Old Hurt

Second pedestrian vehicle accident in Laconia

Police say a driver in Laconia, New Hampshire, struck a baby carriage, causing the 3-month-old infant inside to fall out and suffer minor injuries.

They said a pickup truck was traveling north on North Main Street and turned onto New Salem Street at about 6:30 a.m. Monday when the accident happened.

Police identified the driver as Richard Langlois of Laconia. A preliminary investigation has ruled out speed and alcohol as factors.

On Sunday in Laconia, police say a 21-year-old woman was hospitalized after she was struck by a van.

Police say the driver, 44-year-old Robert Mahoney, collided with the victim, who wasn't identified, as she was crossing the intersection of Union Avenue and Messer Street. She didn't appear to suffer any major injuries.

Neither Langlois nor Mahoney has been cited.
