The police chief in Manchester, New Hampshire, is going to discuss the progress of a multi-agency effort to combat gang-related and gun-related crimes in the city.
Chief David Mara is giving a news conference at 2 p.m. Monday at the police department to talk about a three-part initiative: awareness, deterrence and outreach.
The collaborative effort includes prosecutors from local, state and federal offices; probation and parole officers, the FBI's Safe Streets Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
