Police are on the hunt for a man accused of firing a gun at responding officers in Franklin, New Hampshire, overnight Wednesday.
Franklin police say officers responded to a report of a disturbance and a man with a gun on Prospect Street around 2:30 a.m., when the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Ryan Brouillard, fired a shot.
No one was shot, but Brouillard was able to escape.
He's considered armed and dangerous, and while authorities don't believe he has any hostages, he could be barricaded in a building or could be on the run.
"We are treating this as a very volatile, ongoing operation," Franklin Chief David Goldstein said.
A helicopter was seen searching for the suspect, and some residents were evacuated from their homes as a result of the manhunt. The Red Cross confirms it is assisting those who were evacuated, and a warming station has been set up at Bessie Rowell Community Center for evacuees.
"They escorted me out of there with some snipers and they covered me. I felt safe," Dwayne Mason, who lives in the area, said.

Prospect Street has since been reopened after nothing was found during a search of houses in the area.
Brouillard is described as about 6-feet 6-inches, weighs approximately 250 pounds, brown hair, green eyes and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie.
