Police in Portland and Westbrook, Maine, are investigating whether drive-by shootings in their communities are connected.
No injuries were reported in the shootings, which occurred within about 30 minutes of each other in the pre-dawn hours Sunday.
In the Portland shooting, police say someone drove by a home on Birchvale Drive and fired several shots into a car parked in a driveway, breaking a rear window.
In Westbrook, someone fired at a Bridgton Road home at about 5 a.m. from a passing vehicle.
No descriptions of the vehicles were available.
Residents of the Portland neighborhood affected called it a quiet and peaceful area of the city.
