A man has been arrested after allegedly ambushing a woman and stabbing her multiple times outside of her Cape Cod home.
Police say the woman was walking into her home on Barberry Lane in the Marston Mills section of Barnstable, Massachusetts, around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday when she was attacked and repeatedly stabbed. The attacker then fled.
Police responded to the home after receiving a call from someone who was on the phone with the woman when she was attacked. The responding officers found the woman on the front steps of the home.
The victim's aunt and children were in the home at the time, but they were found safe.

The woman was airlifted to a Boston hospital. The extent of her injuries is unclear.
Police say the woman knew her attacker as identified her attacker as 34-year-old Michael Harrington, of Marstons Mills, whom she knew before the attack. Police say they believe this is a domestic incident.
The Barnstable Police Department said Saturday night that Harrington was in custody. Police said earlier he was wanted on charges of assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
