Police are investigating reports of possibly tainted Halloween candy in two neighboring New Hampshire communities.
Police in Dover and Rochester told Seacoastonline.com they received reports from parents saying that candy their children received while trick-or-treating on Wednesday night appeared to have been tampered with.
A Dover parent told police the candy tasted strange and they thought it might have been injected with detergent. And in Rochester, a parent told police they found several pieces of candy that looked like holes had been poked in them. Police said they have not yet been able to substantiate either claim or determine exactly where the candy in both cases came from.
