Rain Moves in Overnight Into Sunday

Changes move in for Sunday as a system slides across the northeast.

NBC Universal, Inc.

We had a gorgeous start to our Saturday with lots of sun but temperatures were on the chilly side.

By this afternoon, we warm up nicely, into the 50s but the clouds take over. Showers move into Connecticut and by this evening, showers spread north and east.

Tonight, showers are likely over much of Southern New England with temperatures staying near 40 while to our north, we drop into the 30s.

Sunday will be raw, wet and windy. A great day to catch up on your favorite shows, play some board games or make a fancy dinner. Highs will be in the 40s with rainfall totals anywhere between half inch to an inch and a half.

The wind will be gusty out of the east, so we will be dealing with some moderate waves off the coast all the way into Monday. Periodic rain showers will continue across Southern New England into Monday as the system departs, while Northern Maine gets 1-3 inches of new snow.

Our weather remains unsettled to start the week, with a slight chance for snow showers/flurries Tuesday as cold air filters down from Canada.

The forecast becomes more uncertain by midweek as more waves move in our direction. Overall, next week looks a bit cooler with highs closer to average for this time of year.
