Police in Providence, Rhode Island, said they are investigating the city's 14th murder of the year, according to necn affiliate WJAR.
A press release noted that Zenaida Pacheco, 54, of Providence, was found dead in her Randall Street apartment just before 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Pacheco was taken to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office and an autopsy was conducted.
Authorities said the results of the autopsy concluded that Pacheco's death has been ruled a homicide.
The case is being investigated by police.
