17-Year-Old Serious After Crashing Car

Police identified 17-year-old driver as a Wareham resident with a suspended license.

Police say a 17-year-old male is in serious condition after crashing a speeding car in Wareham, Massachusetts early Saturday morning.

The teen - who has not been identified by police - was reported by a motorist for driving erratically and speeding with no lights in the East Wareham area. Police identified the driver as a Wareham resident with a suspended license.

The vehicle was discovered crashed shortly after being reported close to 491 County Rd. It was damaged extensively from skidding off the road and striking several trees.

The 17-year-old was found on the roadway with serious injuries. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Wareham emergency medical personnel.

An investigation is ongoing. No other injuries were reported as a result of this accident.
