2 Arrested, 1 Injured in RI Officer-Involved Shooting

Two suspects were arrested, one with injuries, early Saturday morning after an officer-involved shooting in Providence, Rhode Island.

Commander Thomas Verdie told NBC10 that police were following a stolen Jeep in connection to last week's shooting on Friendship Street. Sometime before 1 a.m., the driver tried running over an officer and Providence police fired two shots at the vehicle, which then took off.

Police followed in a pursuit which lasted through Providence and onto interstate 195 before the suspects were apprehended on Stafford Road in Fall River.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with a gunshot wound in his arm. The passenger was taken into custody by Fall River Police.
